Origin

Just got through with the Lux series re-readathon from Stuckinbooks.com. I AM TOTALLY FREAKING OUT becuase Origin the 4th book in the Lux series does not come out until August 27th, so I have to restrain myself from calling Jennifer Armentrout to get more book teasers.

Excerpt:

Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.

All Katy can do is survive.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?

Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?

And will they even be together?

RT Booklovers Convention

This is a really really late post, but since I didn't have my book blog back then I figured I might as well share these photos from the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention that took place in Kansas City. Sooo here are the pics and swag stuff I got.

FREE BOOKS I GOT!!!!

Obsidian

Obsidian was my best summer read so far. Jennifer Armentrout really out did herself with this book. This is the first book in the Lux series that deals with the exsistence of aliens. Katy the main character moves from Florida to a little town/ not town called Ketterman where she just happens to live next to a family of aliens. When Katy goes to their house ,for directions to the nearest grocery store. She finds herself entranced by the main boy character Daemon; a girls dream guy that apparently can only be found in a book. Though, he maybe a sexy alien with lushest lips his jerkiness is what wins him a trip to the " Friendzone". But, don't let all the steaminess full you since Katy doesn't know her best friend Dee also Daemons sister is an alien she spends all her time with. She is encountered by another alien group called Arum ( the bad aliens) that try to kill the Luxen for their powers. I highly recommend this book series if your looking for a little summer romance mixed in with the whole alien conspiracy theory.

Excerpt:

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

City of Glass

Just finished City of Glass by Cassandra Clare, I believe it was the best book so far between books 1-3. This series is a definite must read especially if you are thinking about seeing the movie which comes out August 21. Cassandra does have a prequel series that I read first, but even if you do read the prequel first you will have the same if not more into The Mortal Instruments series. I do enjoy this series because it allows one to go into the mythical realm of things like demons, werewolves, fearies, and my most favorite Shadowhunters. One should definitely read this series if they are looking for action and adventure, but romance that will have you swooning at every page.

Excerpt:

To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters - never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City - whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the New York Timesbestselling trilogy The Mortal Instruments.
